MoviezWapHD was the sister site that went beyond Telugu and Tamil films to cover Hollywood releases and the web series everyone was binge-watching, from Netflix and Amazon Prime Video to HBO and The CW. Its last archived design was a crisp white page, measured from its own inline styles: a white menu bar framed by thick black rules with emoji icons, red and green notice banners, cheerful blue and green buttons and a grid of posters with rounded corners and deep grey shadows. The rebuilt MoviezWapHD keeps all of that, and every title now opens on the official services that carry it, through one Watch now button.
This guide explains how MoviezWapHD works and what waits on each shelf. The first part tours the page. The second part walks the shelves: new Hollywood releases, the Marvel and DC films, horror, then the Netflix, Prime Video, HBO and CW series. The third part is practical: dual audio, services in India and abroad, free and legal viewing, devices, the official address and staying safe. The short version is the page on how to watch on MoviezWapHD.
Under the menu, two coloured banners greet you, just like the original's: a red one headed Request!, and a green one headed Update!. On MoviezWapHD they carry friendly notes: that every Watch now button opens the official services for your country, and that new Hollywood films and web series arrive every week.
Below the banners, the page title and a short introduction sit centred in bold black letters. A search box follows, and then three buttons in the original's material colours: a green Web Series button, a blue Hollywood button and an orange Genre button, each with a soft shadow that deepens as you point at it.
The heart of the page is the poster grid, six across on a computer, four on a tablet and two on a phone. Each poster has rounded corners and a deep grey shadow that makes it seem to lift off the page, a detail taken straight from the original. Under it, a tiny grey date in spaced capitals shows the release date, and the title follows in bold, centred, with the number of seasons for series. Point at a poster and it rises a few pixels.
The home page is divided into sections, each under a bold black label on a thick black rule: Latest, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO, The CW and Horror. Latest opens with the featured titles of the season and continues with the newest arrivals. Each section ends with a Next Page link to its full shelf, as the original's pages did. Below them, the shelves are listed as grey tiles with their title counts, the help section follows, and then this article.
A title page on MoviezWapHD shows the poster, a backdrop, the story, the year, the runtime or seasons, the score, the genres, the cast and the director or creators. Series pages list every season with its episodes and air dates. The Watch now button opens the viewing panel, and Add to My List keeps the title on the My List page.
Press Watch now and a panel opens with a list of countries. Choose yours and the title opens on JustWatch, which lists every subscription, rental, purchase and free service that carries it there, with a direct link to each. The title plays in the service's own app or website, and MoviezWapHD remembers your country for next time.
India comes first in the country list, followed by the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Australia, Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Bangladesh, New Zealand, South Africa and Germany. HBO and CW series in particular move between services from country to country, and the panel shows exactly where each one plays where you are.
The Hollywood shelf holds seventy-two films from 2016 to today, and the New Hollywood shelf gathers the releases of 2024 onward. The Hollywood guide gives a short tour.
Project Hail Mary follows a science teacher who wakes alone on a spacecraft with a mission to save Earth. Superman opens a new chapter of DC films with a hopeful, colourful Man of Steel, and Sinners is an electrifying tale of twin brothers who return to their Mississippi hometown in the 1930s and face something supernatural. F1 puts a veteran driver back on the grid beside a young rookie, filmed at real Grand Prix races, and Michael tells the story of Michael Jackson.
Dune: Part Two continues Paul Atreides's rise on the desert planet, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga tells the young warrior's story across fifteen years of the wasteland, and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes moves the saga generations into the future. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire brings the two giants together, Alien: Romulus returns to the terror of the first film, Civil War follows journalists crossing a divided America, and The Beekeeper and Gladiator II bring action on a grand scale. Avatar: Fire and Ash returns to Pandora, and Venom: The Last Dance closes Eddie Brock's story.
The Marvel shelf gathers films and series alike. Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame close the great Infinity Saga, Black Panther brings Wakanda to life, and Thor: Ragnarok reinvents the god of thunder as a comedy hero. Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home follow Tom Holland's Peter Parker, Captain Marvel introduces Carol Danvers, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Ant-Man and the Wasp add humour, and Logan sends Wolverine on one last road trip.
From Sony's Spider-Man world, Venom introduces the alien symbiote, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Miles Morales in one of the most inventive animated films ever made. On the series side, Netflix's Marvel shows, Marvel's Daredevil, Marvel's Jessica Jones, Marvel's Luke Cage, Marvel's Iron Fist and Marvel's The Punisher, bring street-level heroes to New York.
From DC, Wonder Woman leaves her island home to fight in the First World War, Aquaman claims the throne of Atlantis, and Justice League brings the heroes together. Joker tells the origin of Batman's greatest enemy, The Batman follows a young detective through Gotham, and Superman opens a new era. The CW's shows, from Arrow to Superman & Lois, built a whole television universe of DC heroes, covered below.
Top Gun: Maverick and Oppenheimer were two of the biggest films of their years. 1917 follows two soldiers across the battlefields of the First World War in what feels like a single shot, Dunkirk recreates the famous evacuation, and Blade Runner 2049 returns to a rainy, neon future. Knives Out is a clever murder mystery, Baby Driver a heist set to music, and Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood a love letter to 1960s Los Angeles. Bohemian Rhapsody tells the story of Queen and Freddie Mercury, Green Book follows a pianist and his driver across the American South, and Ready Player One and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle are pure fun.
For families, Coco, Incredibles 2, Inside Out 2 and The Wild Robot are ready for every age, and Beauty and the Beast retells the Disney classic with songs. Star Wars: The Last Jedi continues the Skywalker saga, Avatar: The Way of Water dives into Pandora's oceans, and John Wick: Chapter 2 and The Meg bring action.
Horror has its own button in the menu, and the Horror shelf gathers Hollywood's scariest films of the last decade. The horror guide gives a short tour.
A Quiet Place follows a family surviving in a world where creatures hunt by sound, so every footstep and every word could be their last. It is tense, clever and surprisingly moving, and A Quiet Place Part II continues the story beyond the family farm. Watch them with the volume up and the lights low; the silence is part of the fear.
The Conjuring 2 follows the paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren to a haunted house in London, and it is one of the most effective ghost stories of its decade. The Nun travels back to a Romanian abbey to reveal the origin of the demon Valak. Together they belong to the biggest horror universe in modern cinema.
Get Out follows a young man visiting his girlfriend's family for a weekend that grows stranger by the hour, and it won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Us follows a family on holiday who meet terrifying doubles of themselves. Both mix scares with sharp ideas, and both reward a second viewing.
It and It Chapter Two follow a group of friends facing a shape-shifting clown, first as children and then as adults. Alien: Covenant and Alien: Romulus return to the terror of the Alien films, Life traps astronauts with a fast-growing organism, and The Meg pits Jason Statham against a giant prehistoric shark. 10 Cloverfield Lane is a tense thriller in an underground bunker, Don't Breathe traps young burglars in the house of a blind veteran, and Split follows a man with many identities.
Annihilation sends a team of scientists into a shimmering zone where nature has gone wild, The Witch follows a Puritan family in the New England wilderness, and Bird Box follows a mother guiding her children blindfolded down a river. The Mummy brings an ancient princess back to life in modern London, and Sinners mixes blues music and vampire horror in 1930s Mississippi.
The series shelves hold several frightening shows too. The Haunting of Hill House follows a family haunted by the house where they grew up, and it is often named one of the best horror series ever made. IT: Welcome to Derry returns to the town from the It films, The Outsider follows a detective investigating an impossible crime, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina follows a teenage witch. Stranger Things and All of Us Are Dead add monsters and zombies.
Netflix series were the most popular posts on the original MoviezWapHD, and the Netflix shelf holds twenty-eight of the most watched. The Netflix guide gives a short tour.
Stranger Things is the series that defined Netflix for a generation. In the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, a boy disappears, and his friends, his mother and the local police chief uncover secret experiments, a girl with extraordinary powers and a shadowy world beneath the town. Its eighties music and style, its young cast and its mix of adventure and horror made it a worldwide phenomenon across five seasons.
Wednesday brings the Addams daughter to Nevermore Academy, a school for outcasts, where she investigates a string of murders with deadpan wit. The Umbrella Academy follows a family of adopted siblings with extraordinary powers trying to stop the end of the world, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina follows a half-witch teenager, and I Am Not Okay with This follows a teenage girl discovering strange powers.
Money Heist follows a mysterious Professor and his team of robbers as they take over Spain's Royal Mint, and it became one of the most watched Spanish-language series ever made. Narcos tells the story of the hunt for Pablo Escobar, Ozark follows a financial adviser forced to launder money in the Missouri lakes, and Lupin follows a gentleman thief in Paris inspired by the famous stories. MINDHUNTER follows the FBI agents who pioneered criminal profiling.
Squid Game became a worldwide phenomenon: hundreds of players in debt compete in children's games for a huge prize. Alice in Borderland traps young people in an empty Tokyo where they must play deadly games, and All of Us Are Dead traps students in a high school during a zombie outbreak. Love Alarm imagines an app that tells you when someone nearby likes you.
The Crown follows the reign of Queen Elizabeth II across six seasons, with a new cast for each era. The Queen's Gambit follows a young chess prodigy in the 1960s, The Last Kingdom follows a Saxon-born warrior raised by Danes in the age of Alfred the Great, and Cobra Kai brings back the rivals of The Karate Kid thirty years later.
Dark is a German time-travel mystery about four families in a small town, full of puzzles that reward careful viewing. The Sandman follows the lord of dreams as he rebuilds his kingdom, Arcane is a dazzling animated series about two sisters in a divided city, and Lucifer brings the devil to Los Angeles as a nightclub owner who helps the police. The Marvel street-level heroes, Marvel's Daredevil, Marvel's Jessica Jones, Marvel's Luke Cage, Marvel's Iron Fist and Marvel's The Punisher, complete the shelf.
The Amazon Prime Video shelf holds fourteen of Prime's most watched series, and the Prime Video and HBO guide gives a short tour.
Fallout adapts the famous video game into a darkly funny adventure: two hundred years after a nuclear war, a sheltered young woman leaves her underground vault and meets a cynical bounty hunter in the wasteland of Los Angeles. Reacher brings Lee Child's tall, clever investigator to the screen, with plenty of action and dry humour. Both became among Prime's biggest hits.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power returns to Middle-earth thousands of years before Frodo, telling the forging of the great rings. The Wheel of Time follows a powerful sorceress searching for a young person destined to save or destroy the world, and Good Omens pairs an angel and a demon trying to stop the apocalypse. The Expanse is a gripping space drama about a divided solar system, The Man in the High Castle imagines an America in which the Axis powers won the Second World War, The Peripheral follows a young woman who glimpses a distant future, and Upload is a comedy about a digital afterlife.
INVINCIBLE is an animated series about a teenage superhero who discovers his father's true nature, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan follows the CIA analyst into the field, and The Terminal List follows a Navy SEAL uncovering a conspiracy. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel follows a 1950s housewife who becomes a stand-up comedian, and The Summer I Turned Pretty is a gentle story of summers at a beach house and first love.
HBO is famous for prestige drama, and the HBO shelf gathers eleven of its most acclaimed series. The Last of Us follows a smuggler and a teenage girl across a ruined America, and Chernobyl retells the nuclear disaster in five gripping episodes. The Pacific follows American marines through the Second World War in the Pacific, and The Penguin follows Oz Cobb's rise in Gotham's underworld after the events of The Batman.
Mare of Easttown follows a detective in a small Pennsylvania town, The Night Of follows a young man accused of murder through the justice system, and The Outsider follows an investigation into an impossible crime. Watchmen continues the famous comic in a present-day Tulsa, The Leftovers follows a town after two percent of the world's population vanishes, Silicon Valley is a sharp comedy about a tech start-up, and IT: Welcome to Derry returns to the town from the It films.
The CW, the American network famous for superheroes and young-adult drama, has twenty-seven series on the The CW shelf, and the CW guide gives a short tour.
The CW built a whole universe of DC heroes, often called the Arrowverse. It began with Arrow, in which a billionaire returns from years on a remote island to fight crime in Starling City. The Flash follows a forensic scientist who gains super speed, Supergirl follows Superman's cousin in National City, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow gathers heroes and villains aboard a time ship. Black Lightning, Batwoman and DC's Stargirl add more heroes, and Superman & Lois follows Clark Kent and Lois Lane as parents in a small Kansas town.
The shows cross over with each other every year in big events, so fans can follow one story across several series. With hundreds of episodes between them, they make one of the longest adventures on the site.
The Originals follows a family of ancient vampires in New Orleans, and Legacies continues the story at a school for young witches, vampires and werewolves. The Winchesters tells the story of the parents of the famous Winchester brothers, Charmed follows three sisters who discover they are witches, and The Secret Circle follows teenagers born into a coven. iZombie is a witty crime series about a young doctor who becomes a zombie and solves murders by eating brains, and Beauty and the Beast is a modern romantic crime drama.
Riverdale reimagines the Archie comics as a dark small-town mystery, Nancy Drew follows the famous teenage detective, and The 100 sends a hundred young people to a post-apocalyptic Earth. Reign follows Mary, Queen of Scots, at the French court, Jane the Virgin is a playful telenovela-style comedy, and Hart of Dixie follows a New York doctor in a small Alabama town. All American follows a young football star who moves to Beverly Hills, Walker follows a Texas Ranger, Kung Fu follows a young woman trained at a Shaolin monastery, Nikita follows a trained assassin, Roswell, New Mexico mixes romance and aliens, and The Tomorrow People follows young people with special powers.
Series vary a lot in length. HBO's Chernobyl and Netflix's The Queen's Gambit are short, complete stories that fit a weekend, while CW shows such as The Flash and Arrow run to well over a hundred episodes. Check the number of seasons under each poster and on the title page, pick a pace that suits you, and add the series to My List so it waits at the top.
The original MoviezWapHD had a Dual Audio section, because many viewers in India like to watch Hollywood films and series in Hindi as well as English. Today the official services make this easy: most Hollywood releases on services in India carry Hindi and English tracks, often with Tamil and Telugu too, and many Netflix and Prime Video series offer Hindi dubs. Open the audio menu in the player to choose, and add subtitles if you like.
Netflix series stream on Netflix in every country, and Prime Video series on Prime Video. HBO series stream on JioHotstar in India and on Max or local partners elsewhere. CW series move between services from country to country, often appearing on Netflix or Prime Video. Hollywood films in India are mostly on JioHotstar, Prime Video and Netflix, and new releases can be rented on Apple TV and Google TV. The streaming services guide sums it up.
Some titles are free and legal to watch. In the United States, Tubi, Pluto TV, Plex and The Roku Channel carry many Hollywood films free with adverts, and several services offer free first episodes of their series. The free movies guide has the details.
The HD in MoviezWapHD's name is a promise the official services keep: most films and series stream in high definition, and many recent ones in 4K with HDR and Dolby sound. The best picture depends on your plan, your device and your connection. On a phone, a data-saver setting keeps mobile data under control, and many apps let you download episodes over Wi-Fi.
MoviezWapHD works in any modern browser. On a computer, six posters sit side by side; on a phone, two. Add MoviezWapHD to your home screen for one-tap access. The devices guide explains how to continue on your television.
My List is the bookmark link at the end of the menu. Add to My List on a title page puts the title on the My List page, where its poster waits in the same shadowed grid. Your browser keeps the list, so it works from the first title, and you can export it as one small file to use on another device.
The search fields read titles, original titles and cast names, so typing Pedro Pascal, Jenna Ortega or Tom Holland finds their titles. The A-Z page lists every title alphabetically, and the genre shelves for Action, Comedy, Sci-Fi and Fantasy, Crime and Thriller and Drama mix films and series. The finding titles guide sums it up.
MoviezWapHD has one fixed address, shown in your browser's address bar. Bookmark it or add it to your home screen, and it opens with your country and My List in place. The official site guide describes the real MoviezWapHD: a white page with a menu framed by thick black rules, emoji icons, red and green notices and shadowed posters. The site status page explains a few quick checks if a page is slow.
Safe streaming is simple. Use official apps and websites, keep your phone and browser updated, use a strong password and two-step sign-in on your streaming accounts, and close any pop-up that asks you to install something. MoviezWapHD has one button per title and sends you only to JustWatch and official services. The safety checklist has a few more tips.
MoviezWapHD's catalogue follows the categories of the original site: Hollywood films and horror, and web series from Netflix, Prime Video, HBO and The CW. Every title is chosen by hand from TMDB's lists of popular and highly rated films and series, and each one is checked to suit a general audience; series built on explicit content are left out of the shelves.
Titles, posters, stories, cast, runtimes, seasons, episodes and scores come from TMDB, The Movie Database, through its official interface. The Watch now panel links to JustWatch, which tracks the services in each country. This guide and the help pages are written for MoviezWapHD, an independent site with its own writing, and the look is rebuilt from the archived pages of the original. The About page says more.
The Last of Us is one of the finest adaptations of a video game ever made. Twenty years after a fungal outbreak has overrun the world, Joel, a hardened smuggler, is asked to escort Ellie, a fourteen-year-old girl who may hold the key to a cure, across a ruined America. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey give moving performances, and the series finds room for quiet, human stories among the danger.
The Penguin picks up right after The Batman. With Gotham's crime families in chaos, Oz Cobb, a scarred and ambitious gangster, schemes his way toward the top of the underworld, while the ruthless Sofia Falcone returns from Arkham to claim her family's power. Colin Farrell is unrecognisable in the lead, and the eight episodes play like one long gangster film.
Arcane is one of the most beautiful animated series ever made. It follows two sisters, Vi and Jinx, separated as children and set on opposite sides of a conflict between the gleaming city of Piltover and the undercity of Zaun. Every frame looks painted by hand, and its story of family, loss and invention grips newcomers and fans of the game alike.
Squid Game became one of the most watched series in history. Seong Gi-hun, a divorced chauffeur deep in debt, accepts an invitation to play children's games for a huge cash prize, and discovers that the stakes are far higher than he imagined. Its bright colours, simple games and sharp story about money and fairness made it a worldwide conversation.
Dark is the German series that became a cult favourite around the world. When children begin to disappear in the small town of Winden, four families discover that the caves beneath the town connect different decades, and their family trees are tangled across time. Its puzzles are among the most intricate ever put on screen, so it is best watched carefully, from the first episode.
Fallout turned a much-loved game into one of Prime Video's biggest hits. Lucy MacLean, raised in a comfortable underground vault, sets out into the wasteland of Los Angeles two centuries after a nuclear war to find her father, and meets a sharp-tongued ghoul bounty hunter and a young soldier in power armour. It is violent, funny and full of retro-futuristic style.
Superman opens a new chapter of the DC films. Clark Kent, already a few years into his career as the Man of Steel, faces a scheming Lex Luthor and a world unsure whether it can trust an alien hero. It is bright, hopeful and funny, with a lovable superdog named Krypto, and it is a perfect family film for a weekend.
Here is one way to enjoy a week of films and series. On Monday, start a Netflix series such as Wednesday. On Tuesday, watch a horror film such as A Quiet Place. On Wednesday, try a Prime Video series such as Reacher. On Thursday, watch two episodes of The Penguin. On Friday, choose the newest Hollywood release from the Latest section. On Saturday, invite friends for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame back to back, and on Sunday share a family film such as Inside Out 2 or The Wild Robot.
The CW's DC series can be watched in the order they began: start with Arrow, then The Flash, which spins off from it, then Supergirl and DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Black Lightning, Batwoman and Superman & Lois join later. The yearly crossover episodes bring the shows together, so fans usually watch the relevant episodes of each series around the same time.
For viewers new to web series, a few titles make a perfect start. The Queen's Gambit and Chernobyl are short and complete, Stranger Things and Wednesday are fun for the whole family, and Money Heist and Squid Game are thrilling from the first episode. For films, Top Gun: Maverick, Oppenheimer and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse show the best of recent Hollywood.
For a family evening, start with Coco or Incredibles 2, move to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle or Superman, and end with The Wild Robot. For older children, Stranger Things and Wednesday are great family series, and Cobra Kai brings the whole family together around the classic Karate Kid rivalry.
For a night of scares, start with The Conjuring 2, move to Get Out, and finish with It. If you prefer a series, the ten episodes of The Haunting of Hill House make a perfect frightening weekend. Keep the lights low, a blanket close, and a friend on the sofa.
Some titles reward a second viewing. Dark is full of clues you only understand the second time, Get Out and Us hide details in every scene, and Knives Out is even more fun once you know the answer. Blade Runner 2049 and Dunkirk reveal more of their craft with each watch.
Each title page shows a score out of ten from the votes of TMDB's worldwide community of fans. Long-running series and new releases often have scores that move as more people vote. The story, the cast and the genres on the title page help you decide the rest.
Money Heist began as a Spanish television series and became a global sensation on Netflix. A mysterious man known only as the Professor gathers eight robbers, each named after a city, to take over the Royal Mint of Spain and print billions of euros. Their red jumpsuits and Salvador Dalí masks became famous around the world, and the story's twists kept viewers glued across five parts.
The Crown follows the reign of Queen Elizabeth II from her wedding to the early years of the new century. Each pair of seasons brings a new cast as the Queen and her family grow older, and the series recreates the great events of the century, from the coronation to royal crises, with lavish care. It is ideal for viewers who love history and drama.
The Expanse is one of the most admired science-fiction series of its time. Centuries from now, humanity has settled the solar system, and tensions between Earth, Mars and the workers of the asteroid belt are close to boiling point. A detective, a ship's crew and a politician are drawn into a mystery that could change everything. Rescued by Prime Video after three seasons, it ran for six.
Chernobyl retells the 1986 nuclear disaster in five gripping episodes. It follows the scientists, firefighters, miners and ordinary people who faced the catastrophe, and it is a powerful lesson in courage and honesty. It became one of the most acclaimed series of its decade.
The Haunting of Hill House is a horror series with a big heart. It moves between two timelines, following five siblings who grew up in a famous haunted house and, as adults, are drawn back together by a tragedy. Its ghosts hide in the corners of many scenes, and its story of grief and family is as moving as it is frightening.
Cobra Kai picks up the story of The Karate Kid more than thirty years later. Johnny Lawrence, the defeated rival of the original film, reopens the Cobra Kai dojo, and his old enemy Daniel LaRusso is drawn back into the rivalry, now with a new generation of students. It is funny, nostalgic and full of heart, and it runs for six seasons.
MoviezWapHD is made for people who love the newest Hollywood films and the web series everyone is talking about. Pick a poster, press Watch now, and enjoy it in the best quality on the service that suits you.
Sinners is one of the most talked-about films of recent years. Twin brothers, both played by Michael B. Jordan, return to their hometown in the Mississippi Delta in 1932 to open a juke joint, where a gifted young blues guitarist plays on opening night, and his music draws a terrible, supernatural visitor. Ryan Coogler mixes history, music and horror in a bold, thrilling film with an unforgettable soundtrack.
Dune: Part Two continues Paul Atreides's journey on the desert planet Arrakis. Living among the Fremen with Chani, Paul rises from exile to lead a rebellion against the powers that destroyed his family, while wrestling with visions of a terrible future. Its giant sandworms, vast desert landscapes and thundering score make it one of the great big-screen experiences of the decade, and it is best watched after Dune.
Oppenheimer is Christopher Nolan's portrait of the physicist who led the project to build the atomic bomb. Moving between his brilliant youth, the secret laboratory at Los Alamos and the hearings that later questioned his loyalty, it won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Cillian Murphy.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduced Miles Morales, a Brooklyn teenager who becomes Spider-Man and meets Spider-People from other dimensions. Its bold comic-book style changed animation, and it won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. It is a joy for the whole family and a favourite for a second viewing.
MINDHUNTER follows two FBI agents in the late 1970s who begin interviewing imprisoned killers to understand how they think, laying the foundations of criminal profiling. It is quiet, precise and deeply gripping, and its two seasons are admired as some of the finest crime drama on Netflix.
Reacher brings Lee Child's famous drifter to the screen. Jack Reacher, a former military police investigator of enormous size and sharp mind, arrives in a small town and is promptly arrested for a murder committed by someone else, and he sets out to find the real culprits. Alan Ritchson's performance matches the books' hero perfectly, and each season adapts a different novel.
Marvel's Daredevil is the best loved of Netflix's Marvel shows. Matt Murdock, blinded as a boy, becomes a lawyer by day and a masked vigilante by night in Hell's Kitchen, using his heightened senses to fight crime. Its hallway fight scenes, filmed in a single take, became famous, and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin is one of the great television villains. The story continues in Marvel's The Punisher, Marvel's Jessica Jones, Marvel's Luke Cage and Marvel's Iron Fist.
Watchmen is a bold continuation of the famous graphic novel, set in present-day Tulsa, Oklahoma, where masked police officers face a white-supremacist group and a detective uncovers her own family's history. It begins with the 1921 Tulsa race massacre, bringing a long-hidden chapter of American history to wide attention, and it won eleven Emmy Awards.
Good Omens adapts the much-loved novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. An angel and a demon, who have grown rather fond of life on Earth over six thousand years, team up to stop the coming apocalypse by keeping an eye on the Antichrist, who turns out to be a rather ordinary boy. Michael Sheen and David Tennant are a delightful pair, and the series is witty, warm and very British.
The Queen's Gambit follows Beth Harmon, an orphan who learns chess from the janitor in her orphanage's basement and rises to face the best players in the world during the Cold War. Anya Taylor-Joy's performance and the elegant 1960s style made it one of Netflix's most watched limited series, and its seven episodes make a perfect weekend.
Lupin is a French series that became a worldwide hit on Netflix. Assane Diop, inspired by the gentleman thief Arsène Lupin from the books his father gave him, sets out to avenge his father, who was framed for a crime by a wealthy family. Omar Sy is charming in the lead, and the clever heists across Paris, from the Louvre to the Seine, keep every episode full of surprises.
Narcos tells the story of the rise of Colombian drug cartels and the American and Colombian agents who hunted them. Its first two seasons follow the hunt for Pablo Escobar, and the third turns to the Cali cartel. Filmed on location in Colombia and told partly in Spanish, it is a gripping mix of history and thriller.
Top Gun: Maverick brings Tom Cruise back to the cockpit more than thirty years after the original. Pete Mitchell returns to train a group of young pilots, including the son of his late friend Goose, for a near-impossible mission. Its flying scenes were filmed in real fighter jets, and it became one of the biggest films of its year.
Ozark follows Marty Byrde, a Chicago financial adviser who is forced to move his family to the lakes of the Missouri Ozarks to launder money for a Mexican cartel. As the Byrdes are drawn deeper into the local crime scene, the family's survival depends on ever more daring schemes. Jason Bateman and Laura Linney lead a superb cast, and Julia Garner won three Emmy Awards as the sharp young local Ruth Langmore.
Two of Prime Video's biggest fantasy series are on the shelf. The Wheel of Time follows Moiraine, a member of a powerful order of women who wield magic, as she guides five young villagers, one of whom may be the Dragon Reborn. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power returns to Middle-earth's Second Age, when the rings were forged and a young Galadriel hunted the dark lord Sauron. Both are made on a vast scale, with sweeping landscapes and epic battles.
